Session 3 15

The surgery is a success! Zinda's bones are…well, they will heal if not stressed for the next several hours. Even Heggy is recovering, especially with Michael waiting nearby practically hovering over her, although she is still unconscious.
It has been about an hour. The dome is sealed, the jump point off - the Kilrathi are certain there is no way the Nephilim could have gotten out. No further gunfire has been reported. Thing is, how to find them?
Zinda Tegram stirs on the bed and instinctively moves her arm to shield her eyes from the surgery light
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, try not to move. You've just undergone some pretty radical surgery."
Zinda Tegram: "Yeah that's what they said when your mo-"
Zinda Tegram winces in pain
Alexander Morello ups the dose on her anesthetic.
Zinda Tegram: "Fuck!"
Abraham deliberately cheerful "Can we put her on the disabled list?"
Zinda Tegram: "I can still…!"
Alexander Morello: "Actually, could I talk with you for a moment?"
Alexander Morello ups the dose further.
[OOC] Abraham: You can still function? All right mighty megatron.
Alexander Morello gestures towards a secluded corner of the surgery.
Abraham follows Alex to the corner.
Alexander Morello: "Admiral, I'm honestly not sure how she's even holding herself together. He bones are nearly the consistency of chalk, and her ligaments and tendons are extremely inflamed."
Alexander Morello: "Zinda has one of the most severe cases of Zero-G Adaptation syndrome that I have ever seen."
Abraham: "I'd always assumed she'd been taking calcium supplements to combat that. How bad is it really?"
Zinda Tegram pushes herself up and spins herself so her legs are dangling off the operating table.
Abraham: "Shouldn't she be straped to the table?"
Alexander Morello rushes back over to Zinda
Alexander Morello: "Telling you not to move was not a polite suggestion."
Zinda Tegram: "Tch!"
Zinda Tegram: "Where's Metis?"
Alexander Morello raises the dose of the anesthetic nearly to it's safe limits. If this doesn't knock Zinda out, nothing will.
Zinda Tegram: "Where's…Met…"
Ingenue is here.
Zinda Tegram drops like a rock.
Alexander Morello sighs…
Ingenue: "That is not standard operating procedure."
Alexander Morello: "It's bad, Admiral. I don't think she's been following the regimen her previous doctor set out for her."
Abraham: "No. She probably hasn't. All right. How long is she going to be down for?"
Alexander Morello: "Well, that's the problem. If she rests, it doesn't get better, but if she exerts herself too much it gets far worse."
Alexander Morello: "And with Zinda, there doesn't seem to be much middle ground…"
Ingenue looks at the Doctor. "What does she need to do? And not do?"
Alexander Morello: "Well, if we had the time, I'd prescribe several months of rehabilitation at gradually increasing gravities… but we don't really have the luxory of time."
Abraham: "I see. Well obviously she will be removed from active duty for the time being, and… she will need constant supervision. Ideally by a family member."
Alexander Morello: "As it is, I'd recommend as much rehab as we can give her, and that she be removed from active duty and restricted to the AG sections of the ship."
Alexander Morello: "And of course, constant supervision."
Abraham: "Yes of course. I had not considered the latter. And no flying at all, obviously."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Is Metis still over here with us?
[OOC] Abraham: the latter referring to the AG sections of the ship
[OOC] Ingenue: Metis can hear you, certainly.
[OOC] Ingenue: And does occasionally direct comments in that way.
[OOC] WC GM: You're all in the same room. It would be very difficult to speak softly enough that the android can't hear under the present circumstances.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: be right back
[OOC] Ingenue: ….I made the doctor run away!
[OOC] Abraham: Metis makes all the doctors cry.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Maybe what Zinda needs is a robot body. : P
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Not that she'll ever admit it.
[OOC] Ingenue: That would be logical. After all, parts of a frame are replaceable. On the other hand, you'd probably have to let Elles extract your brain…
[OOC] Alexander Morello: back
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Bwahahaha. Not soon, though.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Uh oh….
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: To be clear, we're not actually locking Zinda out of combat scenes. : P
Abraham: "Metis. I do believe the doctor is about to ask you to oversee Zinda's rehabilitation."
[OOC] Abraham: Oh no no no yes.
[OOC] Ingenue: Correction: We're /trying/ to lock Zinda out of combat scenes. This will, of course, fail spectacularly.
Ingenue nods. "I understand Admiral, Doctor. I will stay with Zinda."
[OOC] WC GM: Quite.
Alexander Morello: "Metis, I know how you feel about Zinda, but you're going to have to… not listen to her for a little while."
Ingenue: "….selective filtration of auditory signals?"
[OOC] WC GM: She might be down-ish for the rest of this chapter, but then…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Excellent. : 3
Alexander Morello: "No… Zinda may ask you to let her get away with not sticking to her rehab plan. You can't let her do that."
Ingenue: "Not adhering to scheduled rehabilitation could cause short-term damage which will impact long-term repair?"
Abraham: "And, of course, in an emergency she will want to… help. Yes. Help. You will have to be there to remind her that she is helping the most by getting better."
Alexander Morello: "Not adhering to scheduled rehabilitation could prevent short term damage which will cause long term harm."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda's gonna be so pissed. : 3
Ingenue: "Understood. Please upload the terms of the necessary maintenance and practices and I will endeavor to prevent Zinda from stressing her frame."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Why do you think Zinda is out cold right now?
[OOC] Ingenue: Nue may have to use black magic and psychological warfare.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: … can I just upload the PT manual to Metis? Is that possible?
[OOC] Ingenue: If worse comes to worse, I'd presume you could add it to Zinda's file on the Roland, and Nue would…. do what Nue always does when data is nearby.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Yeah, probably.
Alexander Morello: "Admiral, are we going to stick around to help with the mopping up operation, or are going going back to the Roland?"
Abraham: "I want to find those Neph if nothing else. We'll stay here for the time being."
[OOC] Ingenue: So, exactly what are the terms of her rehabilitation? I mean besides 'don't let Zinda tank a crashing Neph transport'.
Alexander Morello: "Then I suggest we send Zinda back to the Roland ASAP to get her out of the action."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: supplements, general PT, and SPACE MEDICINE!
There comes a polite knock at the open doorway.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: And not over-exerting herself, which is probably the hard part
Abraham: "Yes sir." Fires of a salute. "I will see to it sir."
[OOC] Ingenue: ooh, space medicine? Cool.
Alexander Morello returns the salute.
[OOC] Abraham: Yes. Medicine. That takes up space.
Alexander Morello: "Thank you, sir."
Alexander Morello realizes he's still covered in blood up to the elbows.
Abraham: "That's why I didn't offer to shake your hand."
The knock repeats.
Wayne leans in, looking at the group.
[OOC] Abraham: "Someone's at the door."
Alexander Morello goes to wash his hands.
Abraham: "Yes, what can we do for you Wayne?"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: So, scene change so I can wake up? : P
Wayne: "I heard y'all say 'back to the Roland.'" He shakes his head. "We're lockin' down everythin' until those Nephs are caught. Y'can't get back to th' Roland right now."
Alexander Morello sighs…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Someone ask about the salvage.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Specifically, that ship's computer…
Ingenue: "…we will be unable to rehabilitate Zinda until the Nephilim are hunted down?"
Alexander Morello: "Wayne, Zinda is in no condition to fight- hell, even to be BREATHED on by Nephilim."
Wayne: "Oh, an' those anesthetics are a little unstable. Given how lively your friend is, she'll probably be wakin' up…right 'bout now."
Zinda Tegram squeezes her eyes
[OOC] WC GM: Who needs scene change when you have SCIENCE!?
Zinda Tegram looks for the anesthetic IV and pulls it out.
Alexander Morello: "Is anything under this god damned dome stable?"
Wayne: "Th' food. Usually."
Zinda Tegram: "Metis? What's…going on?"
Alexander Morello: "Metis, stop Zinda please."
[OOC] Abraham: Say… this place isn't the Kilrathi version of Alpha Complex, is it?
Zinda Tegram leans up and tries to crack her neck before wincing.
[OOC] Abraham: For the record, the computer is my friend.
Ingenue places a… surprisingly firm hand on Zinda. "Please do not do that."
Alexander Morello turns to the Admiral
[OOC] Ingenue: …technically yes, the computer /is/ your friend.
[OOC] Ingenue: That's why friends make the best archenemies!
Alexander Morello: "Admiral, I must insist that we take Zinda back to the Roland. There's nothing we can do down here that they" *points to Wayne* "can't."
[OOC] WC GM: There are more differences with Alpha Complex than there are similarities. But there are some of each.
Wayne: "Now, I'd beg t' differ wi' that."
Wayne: "You found th' Nephilim."
[OOC] Ingenue: I haven't been issued my laser and/or laser reflective armor, so I'm presume I'm not a troubleshooter. I /am/ part of a secret society though… but am I a mutant?
Wayne: "We'd no idea they were there."
Alexander Morello: "And now you do. And now we have to go."
Wayne: "We kinda need ya t' do it again."
Alexander Morello: "I'm sure you can figure it out."
Abraham: "Ah. Well that can be easily accomplished, I think. Let us go do that then."
Abraham heads back to his fighter to launch the Neph detecting sensors.
Wayne: "Thank ya. Jus' point 'em out; we'll getcha all the guns you need."
Zinda Tegram: "Take me back to the Roland…? What?"
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, you were seriously injured in that crash. Do you remember that?"
Abraham remembers that his fighter is back in the agricultural depot…outside the other dome, beyond the artificial jump point. It is not immediately accessible.
In fact, it is just about on the other side of the planet.
Zinda Tegram: "Yeah, but…I don't need evac, just…"
Alexander Morello: "Yes you do."
Zinda Tegram slowly tries to hoist herself off the operating table before her knees start to buckle.
Zinda Tegram: "Fuck!"
Alexander Morello rushes to catch Zinda.
Zinda Tegram steadies herself on Metis.
Abraham: "Ah, I detect a problem. Our sensors are in our fighters, back at the agricultrural depot. Still, I believe I can jury-rig something with the equiplent you have here."
Ingenue: "Zinda! Please do not do anything ras…. please do not do anything you're incline…. Stop Moving!"
Abraham: "Lead me to an electronics lab and I think I can do that."
Zinda Tegram stops at Metis' command. "That was…"
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, do you remember the crash?"
Zinda Tegram ignores Alexander. "Metis, did you just try and say not to do anything 'rash'?"
Abraham folows Wayne out, leaving Alex and Metis to Zinda's tender mercies.
Ingenue: "…………..maybe?"
Zinda Tegram: "Hehe, ok."
Alexander Morello: "Metis, help me get Zinda into this chair."
Zinda Tegram glares at Abraham. "Fine! I'll evac, but don't you dare take me in a stretcher."
Ingenue blinks. ….that worked? ….filed away for later analysis.
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, at this point you'll do what I tell you to do."
Ingenue assists the Doctor.
Alexander Morello presses a button, and the recovery chair articulates and folds down into a nearly reclining position.
Zinda Tegram: "I…I'll walk out…"
Alexander Morello: "No you won't."
Zinda Tegram pushes herself off Metis and balances steadily, testing her range of movement.
Alexander Morello pushes Zinda down into the chair.
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, listen to me. I was just elbows deep in your chest cavity putting all your ribs back where they belong."
There happens to be an electronics lab across the street. Abraham might be no Spyboy, but at a glance, it does not look like they have the proper equipment here.
Zinda Tegram: "H-hey! I can stand! This is degrading! This isn't right! This is…!"
Alexander Morello: "You are in no condition to be moving around!"
Zinda Tegram: "Tch! Just make sure nobody sees me before I can walk…"
Abraham: "Very nice Wayne. Very nice. I think I can do something with this. Thank you." He then gets to work.
Alexander Morello: "You want degrading? How about waking up with one of your arms replaced without your consent!"
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, if you don't take care of yourself, you are going to fall apart."
Abraham rolled up 4dF: - + + + (Base: 5 Total: 7) (Science to hack together a NephCloakBuster.)
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Chessa be praised
[OOC] Abraham: Ye and verily. Though I walk through the valley of .fudge, I shall fear no -s for thou are with me.
Zinda Tegram exhales and looks at Metis. "I don't imagine you'd let me out…"
Zinda Tegram: "Of course not. You like me too much, hehe…"
Zinda Tegram: "My arms work, right?"
Alexander Morello: "Metis is under strict instructions to make sure you comply with your rehab regimen."
Ingenue: "…this is not incarceration. Of course you will be let out! As soon as you are healed. Doing otherwise would necessitate…."
Alexander Morello: "I just put you back together less than half an hour ago, please don't undo my hard work. Take it easy for once."
Abraham finds the necessary materials missing - holes where they should be, in fact, as if someone got to this lab before him. What he can cobble together, though, is a remote control for the fighters and their cloak busters. Now to get them over here…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda winds up in medical alot, huh?
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Hm?
[OOC] Abraham: She has her own cot.
[OOC] Ingenue: With a plaque and her favorite book.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: She'll probably be living in medical for while, too
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: No! Just a few days. I think.
[OOC] Ingenue: Look, if Zinda behaves, Nue will read her 'Daring Do and the Sapphire Stone". Deal?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Bwahahaha, sure. : D
Abraham: "Interesting… very interesting. Still, this is the next best thing…" Taking control of his ship remotely, Abraham gingerly pilots his ship to the dome.
[OOC] WC GM: How are you getting it over here?
[OOC] WC GM: Both "to this part of the planet" and "inside the dome".
[OOC] Ingenue: Inside the dome? With lasers.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: And then we can evac!
[OOC] Abraham: Sorry, I understood that I had already made the remotes with my first roll. I'll roll that now then.
Abraham rolled up 4dF: 0 + 0 + (Base: 5 Total: 7) (Science to make remotes.)
[OOC] WC GM: You already had the remotes.
[OOC] Ingenue: Mental note: Hack stern lanze's controls so that Zinda can't fly it. Then, if necessary, use emotional blackmail aka: tears.
[OOC] WC GM: So…you're piloting the fighters outside to this part of the planet, or what? If you are, they're still outside the dome.
[OOC] Abraham: Yes I am, and yes they are. But once they are there, I can trigger the cloak busters and while they're operational have Wayne open a hanger to let the ship inside. With the buster running, there's no chance of the Neph getting out undetected.
[OOC] Ingenue: But hey, if they open a hangar, we can evac from that. And if not, lasers.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Metis is mean! XD
[OOC] Abraham: Hey, she's your kid.
Wayne shakes his head again. "Looks like you're lookin' for a hangar? We don't have 'em."
Zinda Tegram taps out a quick message to Geoffrey to come pick the Sterne Lanze up.
Wayne: "Ain't nothing's s'pposed to launch from these domes."
[OOC] Ingenue: Don't have a…. just shoot them! Twice!
Abraham: "Okay, what exits and entrances are there to this place then?"
Wayne: "Person-sized, mostly."
Wayne: "A few vehicular, but nothin' big 'nough fer your fighters."
Abraham: "Well, then at least Zinda can be evaced through an entrance. With the cloakbuster running, no Neph will slip through undetected. You'll want security forces standing by just in case they take the bait."
Wayne: "Hmm…p'rhaps. If ya really need t' get 'er outta here that bad."
Ingenue: "Doctor, what is Zinda's projected recovery period?"
Alexander Morello: "Ordinarily 6 months of really aggressive PT with a year of more moderate therapy… but in this case…"
Alexander Morello spreads his hands out in a gesture of who knows.
Abraham: "Zinda is the type of person who will stand up on broken legs to fight an enemy. I don't want to encourage her by letting her stay in a building with neph running around."
Geoffrey texts back, "Wilco. Your other fighters took off. Will follow."
[OOC] Abraham: To fight an enemy. To debate politics. To play bingo.
Alexander Morello: "It's not like we have the luxury of time."
Zinda Tegram: "Let's just…find them…"
[OOC] Ingenue: Would Zinda's medical records and such from Oldziey be on the Roland? What with her being there so often, not having to fax them from Oldziey sounds like a plus.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: I doubt Oldziey really keeps records…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Her records start when she was conscripted as a confed flight instructor.
Ingenue: "Do not worry. They will be found. And… handled."
Zinda's face blanks out like she's thinking, before something clicks in her head. She unbuckles her torch and hands it to Metis.
Ingenue: "[The nephilim will be deleted.]"
[OOC] Abraham: As soon as I've got remote control, I'm triggering the cloakbuster. Just to see if there are any other surprises on this planet.
Ingenue looks at Zinda questioningly.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: I'd imagine that most of Zinda's stuff is lying in a corner of the surgery…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Don't ruin the moment dude.
[OOC] Ingenue: I'd also imagine that you'd have to pry the torch from her cold dead fingers.
Zinda Tegram: "Give 'em hell."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: To be fair, Zinda was nearly cold and dead…
Ingenue takes the torch. "This unit does not understand."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: She just broke her legs dude.
Abraham easily finds the number of cloaked domes. Seriously, at least 90% of the planet is covered in them.
Zinda Tegram: "That's fine. Just take it."
Ingenue looks down at the torch, running a full spectrum scan upon it. ((Its okay, WC knows why))
Abraham finds himself humming the Star Wars theme.
Zinda Tegram: "Also, Metis, you're a person, not a unit."
Zinda Tegram glares at Alex. "Get me out of here."
Ingenue: "A person /and/ a unit. This body is replaceable."
Ingenue: "[….what? That is not a logical statement….]"
Alexander Morello: "I'm trying, I'm trying! The Kilrathi have the whole place on lock down."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: But Zinda's judgement has been observed to be correct in 98% of cases! :P
[OOC] Ingenue: Don't quote me the numbers!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Heehee!
Around and between some of the domes, a squad of cloaked fighters enter Abraham's enhanced line of sight. Looks like they are doing Nape Of Planet on top of being cloaked. They come to a halt shortly after seeing Abraham's fighter.
[OOC] WC GM: Doing anything?
[OOC] Ingenue: Contemplating the fall of the Nephilim and firey burning with plasmay fire and you weren't talking to me were you?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda's gonna get Geoffrey to bring her Sterne Lanze when she finds out! : 3
Abraham: "Abraham to Roland. We have a squad of cloaked ships at 3321 by 4623. Prepare to intercept."
Roland: "Affirmative. Locked on coordinates, ready to fire at your command."
Zinda Tegram tenses up.
Zinda Tegram: "You getting this Geoffrey?"
Geoffrey: "I was about to ask you."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: I thought Abraham was in another store?
[OOC] WC GM: It seems you've moved into the street? Judging by your conversation.
[OOC] Abraham: I'm in the Gap. I need to get a mod look.
[OOC] WC GM: And Abraham's probably near the front of the lab.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: I thought we were still in the surgery…
[OOC] WC GM: Conversation's been as if everyone's been within earshot.
[OOC] WC GM: Or alternately, Geoffrey could tell Zinda about what he heard. Either way, Zinda can react to it.
[OOC] Abraham: Best to assume we have some kind of hand receivers then, in addition to those of us who have been neutrinoed up.
[OOC] Ingenue: We don't have radios? I thought that's be standard. I mean, besides the telepath clique.
Zinda Tegram: "Crap…Are those Schwarze Lanzen ready to go? I think our confeds friends don't want me flying…"
[OOC] Ingenue: Also, I presume that Michael and Heggy would be with us, so that Heggy could get a proper evac to a place with fewer neph.
Zinda Tegram: "$I can help, but I'd need Sterne Lanze to be taken to me.$"
Alexander Morello: "Excuse me, Geoffry, this is Commander Morello, chief medical officer for the Roland."
Zinda Tegram cuts the channel.
Ingenue: "$….but that would place you in more danger.$"
Alexander Morello glares at Zinda.
Geoffrey: "Go ahead. I'm holding position behind the Admiral's, ah, 'convoy'."
[OOC] WC GM: And yes, you all have radios. Even Ingenue, in addition to any built-in ones.
[OOC] Ingenue: Yay! We can never escape each other!
Zinda Tegram freezes at Metis' words. She thinks to herself, "I might really give out if I keep this up."
Zinda Tegram: "$I…I have a plan.$"
Zinda Tegram frowns. If it means she can keep up…then she'll just have to use that.
Ingenue: "$Does that plan involve doing something unnecessarily dangerous, such as piloting the Stern Lanze in your condition?$"
Zinda Tegram: "$I…I guess. But I told you, I have…I can compensate for it!$"
Alexander Morello radios the Roland. "This is Commander Morello, can someone get me in contact with Geoffrey?"
Zinda Tegram: "$I'll be able to keep up! I swear it!$"
Zinda Tegram starts to sweat.
Ingenue: "$Then I will go with you.$"
Zinda Tegram: "$You'll…what!?$"
Geoffrey: "This is Geoffrey. Can you hear me?"
Ingenue: "$The Doctor has asked me to keep an eye on you. I cannot do /that/ if I am not with you, now can I?$"
Alexander Morello: "Geoffrey, this is Commander Morello, Chief Medical Officer. Have you been briefed on Zinda's condition?"
Geoffrey: "Negative."
Ingenue: "$And I do not have the capability of piloting a vessel of my own.$"
Zinda Tegram: "$I…OK. But promise you'll…I won't really be myself, so…$"
Ingenue: "$I promise that I will bring you back.$"
Alexander Morello: "Zinda was seriously injured in a crash, and is off the active duty roster until further notice."
[OOC] Abraham: You have no license yet.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: AWMG METIS IS TOO CUTE
Zinda Tegram: "$T-thanks…$"
Alexander Morello: "She is also restricted to the AG sections of the ship and is to exert herself outside of physical therapy."
Ingenue: "Doctor?"
Alexander Morello: "Is that clear?"
Alexander Morello turns to Metis
Alexander Morello: "yes?"
[OOC] Alexander Morello: is NOT to exert herself outside of physical therapy
Geoffrey: "She is to exert herself outside of physical therapy." Beat. "I doubt that will be an issue."
[OOC] WC GM: :P
Ingenue: "Do you think there is a way of stopping Zinda that does not involve rebreaking her legs or filling her with enough anesthesia to kill a…. large mammalian creature?"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Geoffrey is such a badass sometimes.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Hey, I caught that…
Alexander Morello: "We'll have to think of something…"
Geoffrey: "I know what you meant."
Geoffrey: "But I doubt I can restrain her."
[OOC] Ingenue: How soon to contact? Probably less than a few minutes?
Geoffrey: "It would take a force of nature. Something like, oh, motherhood."
Alexander Morello: "Then just remind her: If she does not follow instructions, she probably won't make it back to Oldziey in one piece."
Ingenue: "She will make it back."
[OOC] WC GM: Contact w/the cloaked Nephs? Already happening. They're just sitting there, waiting - possibly debating.
[OOC] WC GM: The cloaked Neph fighters, anyway.
Alexander Morello: "I would take it as a personal favor if you could temporarily disable her ship."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Poor Alex. xD
[OOC] Ingenue: Y'know doc, that's a pretty gutsy thing to ask when Zinda is within arm's reach… even if she doesn't have torchy.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: struggling against a force of nature…
[OOC] Alexander Morello: That's what he has Metis for.
Geoffrey: "Negative, seeing as how I'm flying it right now."
Zinda Tegram seethes at Alex. "You wouldn't dare."
Alexander Morello glares right back. "I'll do what I have to."
Ingenue: "…"
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Is there a way to lock someone out of a ship? Like deny them access?
[OOC] Ingenue: Oh sure, just change the start-up sequence.
Alexander Morello: "In that case, if you could lock Zinda out of the start-up sequence…"
Geoffrey: "Confirming request to commit suicide." Beat. "Negative."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: "I don't have admin privileges"
Alexander Morello shuts of the radio and glares at Zinda.
Ingenue places a hand on Alexander's arm. "Doctor? It will be okay. Zinda will not do anything dangerous while I am in the Stern Lanze." Then, in a much lower voice. "And if necessary I will rewrite the stern lanze's OS."
[OOC] Abraham: MetisOS v1.0. Now with Notepad. And that's it.
Alexander Morello: "Ingenue, Zinda really shouldn't even be on the Roland in her condition, let alone on a fighter."
Alexander Morello: "If we weren't busy dealing with Nephilim, and weren't dealing with Zinda, I'd send her back planetside to recover."
Abraham: "Would a gravity well really be the best place for someone like Zinda to recover?"
[OOC] Alexander Morello: yeah, a large station would probably be better.
Ingenue: "I do not disagree. But if you have a method to prevent her that you think will work, you have…" [pause] "negative 652 seconds in which to implement it."
Alexander Morello: "In the absence of a large medical station, it's a lot safer than a carrier."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Heehee.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Man Zinda'll be fine once the bone-print sets.
[OOC] Ingenue: Of course. If she lives that long.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: She's actually pretty hard to kill. : P
Roland: "Roland to Abraham. Orbit will carry us out of firing solution in five minutes."
[OOC] Ingenue: True! But the Neph are game to try, the silly things.
…a quick calculation shows the Roland just left safe firing solution - at least, without firing through the inhabited domes they can not see.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Ever notice how they never have that problem in Star Trek?
Abraham: "Hold your fire."
[OOC] Ingenue: Yeah, but Star Trek and reality only occasionally talk to each other, and its a long distance call.
Abraham: "The ships are still being tracked. If necessary, we will reacquire a LOS for an attack."
Roland: "Affirmative. See you once we're back overhead."
Abraham: "Abraham out."
Alexander Morello: "ETA for evac?"
Abraham: "Now. We'll use my fighter to take Zinda back to the Roland."
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Did we ever get Zinda into that chair?
Zinda Tegram: "That won't be necessary."
Alexander Morello: "Where's your fighter?"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: You pushed her into it so yes.
Alexander Morello glares at Zinda
Alexander Morello: "Sit."
Zinda Tegram gives Alex a 'fuck you' smile. "I am."
Alexander Morello: "Good girl."
Ingenue: "Temporarily."
Zinda Tegram eye twitches.
Abraham: "Right outside that entrance. The cloakbusters are still going. Once the door is open, enough should leak in for us to see if there are any Neph in the immediate vicinity."
Alexander Morello: "Let's go."
Alexander Morello presses a button on the chair and it rises onto wheels.
Geoffrey: "So, are we going to waste these Nephilim fighters or what?"
Zinda Tegram: "That's plan."
Zinda Tegram: "Geoffrey, help me out here…"
Geoffrey: "Before you get here? I mean, they can fire on the dome from where they are."
Geoffrey: "Just let me know when to engage!"
Zinda Tegram: "Just land with Abraham's convoy. I'll be the pilot."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Skip to the leaving the exit scene?
Alexander Morello: "No she won't!"
Zinda Tegram: "And you can stop me?"
Alexander Morello: "I have to try."
Abraham: "Zinda, a junebug could stop you in your state."
Alexander Morello shrugs
Zinda Tegram: "I'll…be fine."
Zinda Tegram: "Just, let me…"
Alexander Morello: "Not if you don't follow instructions you won't."
Zinda Tegram pushes herself up and staggers to the open door panel.
Zinda Tegram: "The cloak busters are running?"
Alexander Morello pushes her back down.
Abraham: "Ah, she' one of those 'problem patients' I hear Doctors create new swear words for."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Roll it. : 3
Abraham: "The cloakbusters are running."
Eventually, the group makes its way toward the door nearest where Abraham is keeping the fighters hovering. This is seriously burning fuel - they are not made to stay in one place for long in a gravity well unless parked.
Alexander Morello rolled up 4dF: - - + + (Base: 5 Total: 5) (Medical for Brawling)
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - - 0 0 (Base: 5 Total: 3) (Resolve, tagging 'Instilled with a Knight's pride')
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Awww.
Zinda Tegram is shoved back into the seat with some effort.
Zinda Tegram: "Fuck you! You don't got a clue what it takes tah make those things move! I gotta do my job you little shit I don't need legs to move tha damn thing leggo!"
Alexander Morello: "Yes, but you do need bones."
Alexander Morello: "And at this point I'm more inclined to call the bits of calcium holding you together swiss cheese."
Zinda Tegram: "I'm not…I'm not useless! Ya shit I've flown more hours than you've spent in bed!"
[OOC] Abraham: If it works hard, does their pushups and eats their wheaties, it might rise to the level of cartilage.
Zinda Tegram struggles in the chair.
Alexander Morello: "You're not useless, just incapacitated."
Zinda Tegram: "Fancy word for useless, ya sack of trash lemme go!"
Ingenue sighs, then places a hand upon Alexander's arm. "Please stop, Doctor."
Zinda Tegram: "If I don't break my legs again in the cockpit then I'm gonna break 'em kickin your sorry ass!"
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, just listen to me for a LITTLE while."
Zinda Tegram: "What, you think I don't have a long line of doctors willin' to tell me I'm at death's door?"
Alexander Morello: "If you take it easy now, you'll be far more useful later."
Zinda Tegram: "Ya damn quack yer just the most recent one!"
[OOC] Alexander Morello: I have to head out soon
[OOC] WC GM: Is the group opening the door?
Zinda Tegram: "I'm not even confed you can't seize my ship, it's private property!"
[OOC] WC GM: With the Neph fighters in line of sight of it?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda will as soon as she gets out of the chair.
Alexander Morello reaches into his bag.
[OOC] WC GM: She's close enough that she can from here. Does she?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Hmm…TPK or no TPK…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Man I can't decide!
[OOC] Ingenue: Bah, there are always concessions. Nue will outlive you all!
[OOC] Ingenue: I mean… umm…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Hahahaha, true! : D
[OOC] Abraham: Worse case, we can wait until Roland is in position again for a fireing solution.
Alexander Morello: "Zinda, when it comes to medical issues, I outrank even the Admiral, so please listen to someone for once."
Zinda Tegram: "Fucker I've held queen grand-bitch at torch-point what makes you think you're gonna do any better!?"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: grand-bitch as in grandma
Alexander Morello jabs Zinda in the neck with a syringe of anesthetic.
Alexander Morello: "That, mostly."
Ingenue catches the doctor's hand and wrenches it aside. ((Though possibly not after the injection…))
Zinda Tegram seizes the moment to open the door.
[OOC] WC GM: Agility checks from Ingenue, Zinda, and Alexander.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: 0 - - + (Base: 2 Total: 1)
Alexander Morello rolled up 4dF: 0 0 + + (Base: 2 Total: 4) (Agility)
[OOC] WC GM: Abaraham's far enough back.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Bwahahaha.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Can I tag some stuff?
Ingenue rolled up 4dF: - - - 0 (Base: 3 Total: 0) (((Agility check)))
[OOC] WC GM: Sure.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I am an awful RPG player.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: Oh, depends on what it's for, jabbing Zinda?
[OOC] Ingenue: Gah. Invoke humanoid =/= human for reroll.
[OOC] Alexander Morello: or to avoid lasers?
[OOC] WC GM: The latter.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Probably avoiding laser fire.
[OOC] Ingenue: Wait… if its avoiding lasers shouldn't I be using toughness?
[OOC] Ingenue: Still rerolling, mind you.
[OOC] Ingenue: …stamina. Toughness is a different game.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I would use alertness if WC would let me. xD
[OOC] WC GM: You may use Stamina, if you wish to tank it.
[OOC] WC GM: Or Alertness, or etc.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - + + - (Base: 4 Total: 4) (Alertness)
Ingenue rolled up 4dF: + + + 0 (Base: 5 Total: 8) (((alertness reroll from humanoid =/= human)))
[OOC] Ingenue: …..I guess that was approved?
Ingenue grabs Zinda's chair and pulls it away just as the Nephilim fighters open fire!
Ingenue: "….respectfully, Doctor, it appear the decision has been made."
Zinda Tegram: "$Geoffrey, swat the flies if you would?$"
…it seems they were not thinking or debating, but rather, copying Abraham's plan: waiting for people to come out so they could open fire.
Geoffrey: "$Rog-$"
Laser fire spears over Zinda's shoulder straight into the Sterne Lanze! Apparently the infiltrators are present.
