Session 1 1

The year, 2687. The place, Commodore Perry Naval Shipyards, Commercial Ring.
Mu Cephei looms bright red outside, as it has for far too long, an eternal reminder of the fate this system's natives are barely escaping.
But for now there is peace. Construction. And a three-on-two fighter simulation, which is awaiting its participants to enter their callsigns and their team - red or blue - before starting.
Abraham Bounty enters El_Presidente and blue.
Zinda Tegram stretches her hands and out proceeds to key in 'EYES'.
Spyboy Pearson enters Spyboy and Red.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Should we nick to our callsigns?
[OOC] WC GM: Not necessary.
BBBB enters BBBB and Red.
Hrrin RaskThar carefully punches in red, and 'razor'
Hrrin RaskThar is instead assigned to Blue.
Zinda Tegram takes the remaining position on Blue.
Zinda Tegram is locked out, and auto-assigns to red.
[OOC] Hrrin RaskThar: Was worried there for a moment I'd cocked it up. Welp.
The simulator tries its best to autobalance. Damn crappy civilian equipment.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh.
Spyboy Pearson misses the days of rigging this set of consoles - though the ConFed did soup it up a bit when they bought it.
Zinda Tegram tweaks the camera settings looking for the 360 degree view mode, conspicuously absent.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: When the Klingons show up, I'm blaming you Spyboy.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: How does one tag themselves with temporary aspects?
[OOC] Hrrin RaskThar: blash, brb.
[OOC] WC GM: With a Maneuver
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Ah. Do I need to roll something or declare it?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Roll, usually. It's generally your action for the round.
[OOC] WC GM: Depends on the aspect, and when you're doing it. You'll have time to set up before the engagement.
Zinda Tegram sighs and settles for the third person camera before attempting to do some practice flying to get a feel for the sim.
Zinda Tegram tries to auto-slide, and crashes into an asteroid.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - 0 0 - (Base: +2 Total: 0)
A whirr of loading, and five fighter simulated cockpits blink into view. Each set of fighters is in formation, heading toward one another about two minutes apart.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Trying to tag myself with the aspect, "Can't fly this damn thing."
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Punch the console.
Zinda's fighter respawns - the simulator apparently programmed to go easy on pilots who mess up right out of the gate.
Zinda Tegram breathes in, then out. This is gonna be frustrating.
Spyboy Pearson: "I think we're at a disadvantage, Eyes."
Abraham Bounty: "Steady on Zinda. This is how we learn."
Zinda Tegram: "I'll get used to it. It doesn't support my techniques, however."
Zinda Tegram: "No wonder your pilots never cut their engines."
Abraham Bounty: "It doesn't support /anyone's/ techniques. That's what makes it fair."
Zinda Tegram grins a little. "If you say so."
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Kilrathi down. I repeat, Kilrathi down!
Abraham Bounty: "I don't say so, but that's what the manual claims."
Spyboy Pearson: "Truer words were never spoken."
Zinda Tegram doesn't respond, only taps her control console expectantly.
[OOC] WC GM: Can wait for Hrrin to return, or just start the engagement?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda is prepared.
Abraham Bounty: "Looks like Hrrin's sim is glitching. You want to take a look at it after this, Spyboy?"
Spyboy Pearson: "May as well."
Abraham Bounty: "Thanks."
Three-on-one combat begins!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Who first?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Bah. In my backstory I survived 5 on 1 confilct!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Don't we roll for init?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Eh, up to WC completely
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Diaspora init: Caller decides
[OOC] WC GM: In this case, let's just declare Abraham first.
[OOC] WC GM: Then Zinda, then Spyboy & BBBB.
Abraham Bounty breaks off formation suddenly, jinking and trying to make himself less of a target. ((Maneuver: moving like mercury on a hot grittle.))
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: + 0 0 - (Base: 3 Total: 3) (Maneuver)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I just noticed the 4dF. Nice touch Aerdan.
[OOC] WC GM: Placing an Aspect on yourself is vs. difficulty 0, so that succeeds!
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda!
Zinda Tegram follows Abraham as he breaks, cutting speed to try and slide in behind him for a tail! ((Maneuver: In my sights!))
[OOC] WC GM: This will be vs. Abraham's defensive roll. Piloting vs. Piloting.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Same roll as before or new one?
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - - - - (Base: 4 Total: 0) (Maneuver)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: OUCH
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Grr
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Never mind. If I can't beat that, I deserve a lazer in my tailpipe.
[OOC] Aerdan: That's what FP is for. Got an aspect which would apply?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: You may want to Invoke to reroll.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I'm gonna keep it.
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham: new roll. That last roll of yours wasn't a defensive roll, technically.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Fair enough
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: k
Zinda Tegram loses control of the sim-craft and breaks off to save position. Damn shoddy physics!
Abraham Bounty sees Zinda trying to occupy his six, and decides he wants none of that.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: How firm are the can't use one skill twice rules? I can't remember.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - + + - (Base: 3 Total: 3) (Defense)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Welcome back.
Abraham dodges, just as Hrrin's simulator de-glitches!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: It's not a fight without our favorite Kilrathi.
Zinda Tegram: "She's back. BBBB, keep her busy!"
[OOC] WC GM: Simulation fight has just started. No shots fired yet. And…actually, good timing. Let's say it's your turn.
Hrrin growls with pleasure. See, percussive maintenace always works! Eventually.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: It does, doesn't it?
Spyboy Pearson grimaces. He knows the owner.
[OOC] Hrrin: Awright, who's in range? Zinda and BBBB and opponents, I know..)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I would assume we are all in range of each other.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: BTW: Posted a link for you in backscroll
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Meaning that you can get access via Chessa…
Hrrin: Kilrathi military doctrine dicates: 'Focus on the strongest.' Additionally, if 'Eyes' wants me kept busy, then it is my responsibility to tie her up….
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: How many fate points we start with again?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Five
Hrrin: Hrrin targets Zinda's simulated ship with a battery of equally simulated blaster fire.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: OK.
[OOC] WC GM: Actually, 3.
[OOC] WC GM: That's part of the character growth house rule.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Oh, right
[OOC] Hrrin: With enough compels, three is plenty.
[OOC] Hrrin: dice rolling mechanic?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: .fudge #
[OOC] WC GM: .fudge X
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: .fudge [bonus]
WC GM rolled up 4dF: + 0 0 - (Base: 0 Total: 0) (an example)
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: + 0 - - (Base: 3 Total: 2)
[OOC] Hrrin: Awright, no aspects invoked for this…Zinda, defend against two?
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: 0 0 - + (Base: 4 Total: 4)
Zinda Tegram glances behind her, muttering "Too slow!" before rolling sideways and starting a corkscrew.
[OOC] WC GM: Spyboy & BBBB now.
Spyboy Pearson: "B-4, shoot there and we'll force El_Prez to kill his accel!"
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Next time Hrrin rejoins, I'll just repost the link.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: She is already back. Zuki.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: I pm'd but she's on something else now
Abraham Bounty: "Hm… I wonder is Spyboy realizes he's on an open channel?"
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Using Tactics to place a maneuver on Abraham - 'Sitting Duck'
Hrrin: "I am inclined to believe he doesn't, Abraham."
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Using Science as Tactics to Defend
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: - + - + (Base: 4 Total: 4)
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - - 0 + (Base: 3 Total: 2) (My six, you can't have it!)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Aspected.
[OOC] WC GM: Insufficient Science, apparently
Spyboy Pearson invokes Knows Every Aspect of AWACS Doctrine
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I didn't have the numbers.
Zinda Tegram: "I see you can still vector, Spyboy."
Abraham Bounty cuts thrust, as Spyboy planned.
Spyboy Pearson: "Mmm. About as well as the rest of you can pilot. Personally I'm having no trouble there, but then…we all know how good of a pilot I'm not."
Zinda Tegram: "Just stay out of the furball and keep a unit to sanitize your six. We'll do fine."
[OOC] WC GM: That's the joint action of BBBB & Spyboy? If so, Abraham again.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Is it a joint action?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: As a Companion without the Independent quality B-4 really can't take any action on her own.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I am not sure it is.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I see.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: k then.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Strictly speaking she lets me take an additional Consequence and roll Pilot at +3.
[OOC] WC GM: Starting this round forward, I'll enforce the "can only use a skill for one thing per round" rule.
[OOC] WC GM: Not counting uses last round.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Roger that
Abraham Bounty suddenly dives into a inverse loop tying to put himself on Zinda's six. ((Maneuver Aspet on Zinda: On your six.))
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: 0 - - 0 (Base: 3 Total: 1) (Maneuver)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can I roll alertness as a defense?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Oh did we mention that Chessa's fudge dice have five minuses, a zero, and you only get plusses if they balance on a corner?
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda: sure.
[OOC] Hrrin: That explains so much.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: 0 0 0 0 (Base: 2 Total: 2) (Don't think I don't see that!)
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda next.
Zinda Tegram slices her speed so the inverse roll sends Abraham right where she wants him!
Zinda Tegram: "Let's see you dodge *this*!"
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: + - + 0 (Base: 3 Total: 4) (Fire!)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Don't forget you can free-invoke Forced To Slow Down
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Yes, do that.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Makes it 6 then?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Yep.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: As Tenacious D would say, 'That's ****ing Teamwork!'
Abraham Bounty sees the pattern in Zinda's shots and weaves between them ((Resolve as defense))
[OOC] Hrrin: Good FATE fightin's all about Teamwork, yep.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: 0 + 0 0 (Base: 4 Total: 5) (Oh god oh god I don't wanna die in a sim!)
[OOC] WC GM: 6 beats 5
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Free tags moving like mercury on a hot grittle.
[OOC] WC GM: 6 loses to 7
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: FP Tags 'Born in the Cockpit
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: FP tags Military Family
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: And there's off Abraham is leading by a nose, but Zinda is close behind… and they're in the final stretch…
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: I will point out at this point that Diaspora caps the Aspects you can tag - one from each scope, meaning no more personal aspects, and there's no more in the sim.
[OOC] WC GM: Let's have a bit of narrative to describe those tags? :P
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'll let Zinda go first as I'll probably have to react to her narritive.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Also BRB in a mo'
Zinda Tegram tracks Abraham's evasive maneuvers. If he's evading then….There! Zinda swaps her firing pattern at the last moment to cover the hole!
Abraham Bounty is timing Zinda's pattern… the next blast should be… THERE! He makes to dodge a blast that comes a tenth of a second later than he expected, but is able to abort his maneuver in the final moment, letting him change it to a smooth barrel roll between Zinda's final two shots.
Abraham Bounty: "Clever girl. You very nearly had me there."
Zinda Tegram: "Not over yet!"
Abraham Bounty: "No… I suppose it's not."
[OOC] WC GM: Hmm - Spyboy/BBBB while we wait for Hrrin to reconnect?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Kay
Zinda Tegram dives past Abraham on the firing run…just when it looks like she's clear she clips an asteroid to flip herself over! She still has a firing solution!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh - looks like Zinda was thinking bit of narrative for each invoke =p
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: : 3
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: New client?
[OOC] Hrrin: Stable Connection Get!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Just in case.
Zinda Tegram: "I noticed earlier these shoddy physics model impact damage imperfectly…heh."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: This shoddy
Abraham Bounty: "Hrm… probably true. But first you have to /have/ an impact."
[OOC] WC GM: So, Spyboy/BBBB if you have the action typed up? Else Hrrin.
Spyboy Pearson: "Next you'll be doing rocket jumps."
Abraham Bounty: "I'm waiting for her to pull the lever that turns her fighter into a giant robot."
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: She kissed an asteroid as part of her narration, Abraham.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Macross was a documentary in this universe, right?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Ah I see it now.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: : D
[OOC] Hrrin: I'm working on typing/phrasing that next action if BBBB's good?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It's like… Look at how the police spin the car out.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Okay
Spyboy Pearson: "B-4, put some pressure on El Presidente. Break left!"
Abraham Bounty: "Ah the trials and tribulations of being a commander."
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Tactics, Maneuver, Pressure's On on Abraham.
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: - 0 - + (Base: 4 Total: 3)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Damnit, Chessa!
Abraham Bounty dives directly at a large asteroid, opening fire on it and blasting it into a convenient ammount of cover (Defense, Gunnery, Cool as a Cucumber which is a vegetable)
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - 0 - + (Base: 3 Total: 2) (Gunnery)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'm gonna blame the sim on that one.
Indeed, that asteroid seemed to be cucumber-shaped. Cheap models, anyone?
Abraham Bounty dusts an asteroid, but not enough to provide the cover he was hoping for. Too many large, slow, chunks remain that are easily dodged around.
[OOC] WC GM: Aspect up. Hrrin's turn!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: If it's any consolation, Chessa hates us all equally.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Very equal - same roll. =p
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Just so.
Hrrin: "Funny you should mention the physics model, 'Hundred-Eyed Demon.' It isn't the only thing that can glitch up in these simulations."
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: 0 - - 0 (Base: 3 Total: 1) (Communications, Maneuver: Hollywood Hacking Time)
[OOC] Hrrin: ….Fate Point to re-roll? I'd like to -pretend- I'm doing something cool here.
[OOC] WC GM: Sure
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: 0 + - 0 (Base: 3 Total: 3)
[OOC] Hrrin: Eh, I'll take it.
[OOC] WC GM: Though, what are you placing the aspect on? The sim?
[OOC] Hrrin: More or less. What I'd actually like to do is place a maneuver on the opposite team for glitched-up displays and sensor readings.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: What was abraham's final narration for our exchange? I kissed the asteroid and then what?
[OOC] WC GM: Take back the Fate Point. That 1 succeeded, and a better roll doesn't succeed better.
[OOC] WC GM: Unless someone on the other team wishes to defend on behalf of the sim.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: On behalf of the sim? No. Though if she's opening up the hacking card….heheheh.
[OOC] Hrrin: Excellent. I look forward to being worried.
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham, then. And it sounds like blasting the asteroid Zinda clipped on was Abraham's finisher?
Abraham Bounty: Zinda flips over and lines up her firing solution, but Abraham is not there. She casts about for a second before she finds him weaveing between some simulated asteroids. She suddenly realizes he's mocking her, that's the exact same pattern he used to dodge her fire.
[OOC] WC GM: Or not.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: No the asteroid zapping wa my gunnery defense, which didn't work as Chessa hates us all in equal measure.
Zinda Tegram fires her engines and begins preparing her next attack run.
[OOC] Hrrin: Let's call that Aspect that Hrrin placed 'Glitchy Sim Displays,' by the way.
Zinda Tegram: "Spyboy, I need vector data on that dodge he's using. I can't track it on these weapons."
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Bear in mind there aren't really 'AoE maneuvers,' so if that applies to both Zinda and me/B-4, it also applies to you and Abraham.
[OOC] Hrrin: I am aware.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Kay
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham's turn?
[OOC] Hrrin: But what I had in mind made a lot more sense to apply accross the board, than claim I could target a single person with it.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Requesting you run a maneuver on me that gets me a free-taggable to help me make this shot. Something like, say…"Has the numbers"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Thought Abraham went already.
[OOC] WC GM: That was Abraham's response to Zinda's narrative last turn. No action for this turn declared yet.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh. Because Hrrin was pinging out again, I went before her. 'Pressure's On' is currently on him.
Abraham Bounty frowns as he sees a new datastream is causing interfearance in the Sim… and the stream originates from Hrrin's display. He doesn't say anything right now, but makes a note to remind Hrrin that Kobiyashi Maru maneuvers only work when you have command level access.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Really all Hrrin did was engage the 'Nebula' simulation mode. Hopefully there are no Shivans!
Abraham Bounty leaves a missile in the asteroid field, and detonates it when one or more of the opposing team gets close. It's won't actually hurt the team, but it will keep them occupied as they dodge sim-debris.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Abraham tried to get my six
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That was his turn I thought
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: That was like a round ago
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: This is Round 3 - he's first in queue so he goes again.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Maneuver Gunnery, Aspect: I'm busy dodging rock)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: On whom?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Oh, what was your second action?
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - + - - (Base: 3 Total: 1) (Manuver on Zinda.)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I didn't see what you did in Round two
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Knew I could count on you Chessa.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: My first was making him slow down, but that's gone
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Grah
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Second was 'Pressure's On.' On Abraham still.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Ah, OK.
[OOC] Hrrin: Next time we play, I'm keeping a scratch pad handy so I can write down who's got what aspects and whether or not they're free-to-tag.
BBBB: "…Who engaged Nebula mode?"
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Not a bad idea at all.
Spyboy Pearson: "Hrrin did, I think."
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: It ain't at that.
Zinda Tegram: "Makes sense…B4 can you tie the cat up?"
[OOC] Hrrin: After all, more elaborate space combats or ground combats will also have separate zones.
[OOC] WC GM: Yeah - this is all same-zone.
Zinda Tegram: "And Spyboy check your comms."
Zinda Tegram: "You're set to public."
[OOC] WC GM: So, Zinda's defense vs. Abraham's maneuver?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Zinda, you gonna dodge my aspect?
Spyboy Pearson: "Doesn't make much difference. You're all ten feet away from me."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Yes
Zinda Tegram flies into the Rockfield to pursue Abraham. "I'll get you this time!"
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - - + 0 (Base: 2 Total: 1) (Child's Play)
Abraham Bounty: "You shouldn't make promises you can't keep. It makes people question your verasity."
[OOC] WC GM: Tie = defender wins
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda's revenge!
Abraham Bounty: "Tsk. I acted too early. Ah well. The game continues."
[OOC] Hrrin: Can I get a summary, actually, of what aspects are on who, and what's been free-tagged and what hasn't?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: That would be wonderful, yes. We do need that.
Zinda Tegram chases Abraham through the asteroid Nebula. Right as he's turning to clear a 'roid, she blasts the rock to try and catch him in the shrapnel!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Or even a running list in Aeons or something.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: The only ones I know of are Glitchy Sim Screens, presumably sticky but untagged and on the zone, and Pressure's On, presumably fragile and on Abraham.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - 0 - + (Base: 3 Total: 2) (Turnabout's fair play!)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: With the free tag, 4
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: This an attack, then?
[OOC] WC GM: I think that's it. All others have been tagged - did you want the full list?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It is.
[OOC] Hrrin: Sure, why not? If they're still there, then they're fair game, even if one must spend.
Abraham Bounty: "You wish to play tag? Very well, you are it then."
Abraham Bounty weaves in the space debris making it impossible for Zinda to line up a shot for more than a milisecond.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: + + + + (Base: 4 Total: 8) ((resolve to dodge))
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Abraham also had Mercury on a Hot Griddle and Forced To Slow Down.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Can't remember if OH MY GOSH
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Holy fuck. Who are you and what did you do with Chessa.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Nice, Nice.
[OOC] Hrrin: Goddamn. What does spin get you in Diaspora?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: And I just exalted.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Eh, +1 to a roll up to your next turn
[OOC] Hrrin: Not much. But still.
[OOC] WC GM: Tagged aspects: Can't Fly This Damn Thing on Zinda; Pressure's On, Moving Like Mercury On A Hot Griddle, & Sitting Duck/Forced To Slow Down on Abraham.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Three rounds and no damage.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Is that unusual?
Abraham Bounty dives between two asteroids with barely a paper's-width of clearance before the asteroids collide, blocking Zinda's path tho him.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Hrrin's up, yes?
[OOC] WC GM: Two and a half, but it's mostly been maneuvers so far.
[OOC] WC GM: Hrrin's turn.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Dunno, most of my combats have been mooks on one side.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I haven't even launched an attack yet. All I've done is maneuver and contra-maneuver.
[OOC] WC GM: Yeah - I figured PC to PC combat would take a bit. A nice intro to the mechanics.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I knew I should have rewatched Titan A.E. for cool space maneuvers.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can I ask for a compel?
[OOC] Hrrin: I was just about to, actually….
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Excellent.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Like we need the hot space action to be more compelling…
[OOC] WC GM: Hmm…what to compel…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zinda's gon' get you. : 3
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: > : 3
[OOC] WC GM: Knight's Pride it is. Zinda's hyper-focused on Abraham.
[OOC] WC GM: Ignoring Abraham's wingmate.
[OOC] WC GM: Do you accept?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I do.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Oooh. that could be… interesting…
[OOC] Hrrin: Welp, that sorta un-does what I had planned, augh, let me re-think this. But it could work quite well, yes!
[OOC] WC GM: It is Hrrin's turn, yes.
Zinda Tegram: "Don't think you've gotten away yet!"
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: I thought stable connection was getted?
Hrrin: "Oi, I thought you Oldziey types were born to the asteroid belts, and you can't nail him down?" Hrinn goads Zinda, and maneuvers herself into a perfect six.
[OOC] Hrrin: Appropriate skill to roll for such a maneuver? Pilot? Tactics? )
[OOC] WC GM: Either of them.
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: - 0 - + (Base: 2 Total: 1) (Would-Be Sneaky Cat)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Do I defend or take a penalty or what?
[OOC] WC GM: If you don't defend, the Maneuver's placed on you.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Best way to think of it is that WC compeled you to not defend.
[OOC] Hrrin: I think if I spend a FP, I can compel you not to defend, on account of distraction, yes?)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I mean, can I roll for defense or not?
[OOC] Hrrin: Yis, that.
[OOC] WC GM: Or that, sure.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I will accept your compel.
[OOC] WC GM: And that's another FP for Zinda. Aspect placed.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: What is the aspect? Would-Be Sneaky Cat?
Zinda Tegram glances behind her. "Tch! This camera's not good enough…"
[OOC] WC GM: "On Your Six", I think?
[OOC] WC GM: BBBB/Spyboy
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: "Got Zinda's Six"
[OOC] Hrrin: That, yes.
Spyboy Pearson: "Eyes! Break up, then down and you'll be back on him."
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Tactics, Maneuver: Zinda On My Six on Abraham.
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: - 0 0 0 (Base: Tactics Total: -1)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That's 3
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Yeah.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Yes. You confused Chessa.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Not unbroken, though!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: My record for breaking chessa is three times in a single minute.
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham defending?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Okay, I just doped out what SB is trying. Yes I is.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It's an aspect me I thought
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: In retrospect, I should have put it on Zinda. Can I retcon?
Zinda Tegram: "Thank's for the heads up Spyboy, but I've got another idea. For now I just need that evasion analysis!"
[OOC] WC GM: Sure.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Cuz otherwise Abraham's defense stands.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Or does it?
[OOC] WC GM: And yeah, it is more on Zinda.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I have a defense?
Spyboy Pearson: "Working on it."
[OOC] WC GM: No defense, then. But you do have your turn, now!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: You rolled that 8 vs. Zinda, though that may be a resist (which doesn't stick?) vs. a defense (which does until you act)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It was a defense
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Then yeah, definitely retcon =p
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Okay, I'm lost. Is it my turn?
[OOC] WC GM: Yes
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: k
Abraham Bounty ponders out loud (on an open channel). "Is Zinda flirting with me? Is it still harassment if I out rank her? I can never remember. I need to look that up."
Zinda Tegram: "!"
[OOC] WC GM: For simplicity, let's say Spyboy's action placed "On His Six" on Zinda.
Zinda Tegram: "Cur!"
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Maneuver on Zinda. Aspect: "Zinda's got a boifwiend!" Roll Bureaucracy.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - 0 + + (Base: 2 Total: 3) (How many minuses can one roll get?)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Yes I am a bad bad person.
[OOC] WC GM: That sounds more like a Composure attack than an Aspect placing.
[OOC] WC GM: Sure you want to make it Aspect?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Um… Maybe… I didn't get that far I'm fraid. What does composure attacking entail?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Rolling Alertness
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: It's an attack, just vs. composure instead of health and generally resisted with a different skill.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Most of our maneuvers would be useless against it, and armor would, too.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: You know what? I'll go with it. All Zinda's composure belongs to me. You have no chance to be flustered, make your time.
[OOC] Hrrin: Taken Out with composure, after all, is still Taken Out.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: May I still defend with alertness?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I have no idea.
[OOC] WC GM: Resolve would be more appropriate.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: OK
[OOC] Hrrin: Yep. Resolve.
[OOC] WC GM: Also, Abraham has that spin - presumably applied to this roll? So that's actually a 4.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: The spin?
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: + + 0 - (Base: 3 Total: 4) (He's just trying to psych me out! ((FP tag, Instilled with a Knight's Pride! I won't let myself fall to just petty distractions!))
[OOC] WC GM: From rolling that 8 defense and far outdoing the attack.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Ah. Then yes, I'll apply that to my roll.
[OOC] WC GM: 4 vs. 4. Tagging anything, Abraham?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Acutally, yes. I am tagging her 'Sworn to uphold Justice' as she get's distracted by my musings on Sexual Harassment.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: And I know that eats another FP.
[OOC] WC GM: 6 vs. 4. Any further tags?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I am!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: You is?
[OOC] WC GM: Name the Aspect, then?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I tag Abraham's "Does the job that's in front of him, then runs"! Zinda won't waver for a coward's taunts : 3
[OOC] WC GM: Alright, that's the Opponent Aspect. Abraham, tagging anything else?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: He can't.
[OOC] WC GM: Is he out of P?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Well, unless it's free taggable
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: So wait, did she just blow two FP to deal with my little schoolyard taunt? I'll let that stand.
[OOC] WC GM: Alright, then. Zinda!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: and I still have one FP.
Zinda Tegram leans back. She needs to relax. This field is just like the ones back home! ((Maneuver: Alertness "Just like Home" , on the scene.))
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: + 0 - - (Base: 2 Total: 1)
[OOC] WC GM: Aspect placed. Hrrin!
Hrrin: Kilrathi are natural ambush predators. Distracted prey, low visibility, and perfect positioning…Hrrin may not be a crack pilot, but you couldn't ask for a better shot.
[OOC] Hrrin: Tagging 'Glitchy Sim Screens' AND 'On Zinda's Six' for +4, and rolling Gunnery
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: - - - - (Base: 7 Total: 3)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Is there a limit to however many times I can that now that I've placed it?
[OOC] WC GM: …
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: …
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Also, is there negative spin?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: You can call for a reroll…
[OOC] Hrrin: Aaaand FP for re-roll, AGAIN.
[OOC] WC GM: There is not negative spin. Only spin that's awarded to the other side.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: There is positive spin if you beat her by like forever.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I'm gonna compel you to keep that.
[OOC] WC GM: Compelling what aspect?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Whether she rolls low or you roll high, if you beat her by three or more, that's Spin.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Dun think you can compel to not reroll =p
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: ^
[OOC] Hrrin: I am inclined to agree.
[OOC] WC GM: I don't think Hrrin would accept in any case.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Alright then.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Also, she needs more aspects.
[OOC] Hrrin: C'mon, worst case scenario, you can show us how consequences work!
[OOC] Hrrin: She does.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: But offering a compel and having it rejected would get Zinda a FP back =p
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That was my idea.
[OOC] WC GM: Anyway, reroll.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I dunno. Go ahead and spend taht FP, but I'll /give/ you this juicy FP if you don't… I can see the tempation.
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: + + + 0 (Base: 7 Total: 10) (Bugs Bunny Screws Your Mother!)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Whoa.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Quite the reversal.
[OOC] WC GM: …so, defense roll?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can I get an aspect list?
[OOC] Hrrin: For me? Or everyone?
[OOC] WC GM: "Just Like Home" is still free-taggable
[OOC] Hrrin: 'Just Like Home, which you just set, seems relevant.
[OOC] WC GM: I think that's the only one not yet tagged.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: That and Zinda's On Abraham's Six, which is untagged.
[OOC] WC GM: Except for "On His Six", which is you vs. Abraham
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: But unrelevant.
[OOC] WC GM: Yeah
[OOC] WC GM: If you want something to spend the FP on, you could spend it on Glitchy Sim Screens too.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I have a sneaking suspission that our little brawl is going to be cut short by an alarm at session end.
[OOC] WC GM: You only have one left, right?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Alright. Tagging that, plus "Born in the Cockpit"
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: + 0 + - (Base: 8 Total: 9)
[OOC] WC GM: 2 stress
[OOC] Hrrin: -whistles, impressed-
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: I wonder if chessa stores variables?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: So one stress?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Yeh
Hrrin: "First blood!" Hrrin roars, pleased.
[OOC] WC GM: Err - wait, "Glitchy Sim Screens" would take a FP to invoke.
[OOC] WC GM: Did you have 2 FP left to tag "Born in the Cockpit" too?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Isn't it 1 FP to tag my own? Also, yes. I started with three, got two from compels, and burnt 3 so far.
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I should have 1 left after this then.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Glitchy Sim Screens didn't get tagged, I think, by Zinda?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: No that was Hrrin.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I just ate the stress. Thought about it though.
[OOC] WC GM: 1 to tag Sim Screens - after Hrrin had used the free tag - then 1 to tag Born in the Cockpit
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Pilot for defense, plus two Aspects.
[OOC] WC GM: So, that works, but you're at 0 FP
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: So no Sim Screens.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I didn't tag screens
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: So only one FP.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I tagged 'Just like home'
[OOC] WC GM: Ah, okay.
[OOC] WC GM: BBBB/Spyboy!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: The free tag. Hrrin tagged the screens.
Spyboy Pearson glides by the asteroid field, watching Abraham's movements and running some quick calculations.
Zinda Tegram flashes her eyes open and rolls out of firing line, leaving her wingtip charred.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Tactics: Maneuver vs. Abraham, 'Not So Random Evasion'
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Compels?
Hrrin: "Only Ninety-Nine Eyes now, eh?"
Zinda Tegram: "Silly Cat."
Zinda Tegram smiles darkly.
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: - 0 - 0 (Base: 4 Total: 2) (Not So Random Evasion)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Re-roll?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Not so random dice either.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Not unless he's gonna win on his defense.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: OK
Abraham Bounty flips a coin to decide if he's going to go clockwise around the asteroid, or contra-clockwise.
Zinda Tegram: "Once I'm done with your wingmate I'll be turning right around…"
Hrrin: "If you can catch me, 'Eyes'"
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Abraham - defending?
Abraham Bounty fails to catch the coin, shrugs, and just blasts through the asteroid.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: 0 - + + (Base: 3 Total: 4) (Gunnery.)
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham's turn!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: I see.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Spending FP to reroll
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: 0 + 0 + (Base: 4 Total: 6)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'll take the aspect.
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham's turn, then.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Combat'll get a lot more effective when we can have two people pile on the maneuvers and a third take the shot.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I agree.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: And we have three effective shooters.
Abraham Bounty decides to cheat and use the glitchy (Not Hrrin's fault this time) gravity to orbit an asteroid, and come up on… Spyboy's Six.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Maneuver on Spyboy: Your Six belongs to Abraham, Roll, Pilot.
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - 0 0 0 (Base: 3 Total: 2)
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Okay, Chessa's back.
[OOC] BBBB: Resisting with Pilot!
BBBB rolled up 4dF: + - + 0 (Base: 3 Total: 4)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Bunny plays point defense!
BBBB kisses Michael's wingtip with hers, knocking both ships out of Abraham's line of fire!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'll let it go.
Zinda Tegram: "Not bad B4"
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Winged Cat, does your log reader handle PCs voicing NPCs? I can't remember.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Free tagging: On Michael's 6, Just like Home, Feeling the Pressure
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: + + 0 + (Base: 9 Total: 12)
Zinda Tegram: "It's OK to run Prez…But those who don't face forward can never achieve victory!"
[OOC] Zinda Tegram:
[OOC] WC GM: Wasn't Just Like Home already tagged? Still, that's 10. Or 12, if spending the FP on it.
Abraham Bounty: "But I can't run, before the job's done. But that doesn't apply to you. You can run now if you want."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That was last round I thought
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Are free tags only good once?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Can only free-tag an aspect once.
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
[OOC] Hrrin: Yes.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I see.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: After that you pay in FPs.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: With the possible exception of Consequences.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: So I have a ten, or twelve?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Yes.
[OOC] WC GM: Depends on if Zinda spent the FP on Just Like Home.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Not useful, Z.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I do not.
[OOC] WC GM: 10, then.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I can tag that if he gets too high.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Yah, that's not an exception on Consequences. Free-taggable by your enemies once.
Abraham Bounty shrugs his shoulders and decides to simply run straight at Zinda. The game is chicken, and we'll see who runs.
Abraham Bounty: fudge 4;Resolve
Abraham Bounty rolled up 4dF: - - + + (Base: 4 Total: 4) (Resolve)
[OOC] Hrrin: Aaah, making more composure attacks?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: No Abraham can roll it for defense.
[OOC] Hrrin: Ah.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Yes. To Z's statement.
[OOC] WC GM: 6 stress.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I was setting up to tag without a home, but I decided to save my FP.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: So, who's up now?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: That puts it at 6 stess, doesn't it?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: And spin?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Yes.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Can Abraham handle 6 stress?
[OOC] WC GM: Yep. And - let's say, 3-box stress tracks for these fighters?
[OOC] WC GM: Since fighter Health doesn't depend on pilot Stamina in most cases.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Especially in Sims.
Zinda Tegram lines up her sim-craft with Abraham's.
Zinda Tegram: "I'll play your game then!"
[OOC] WC GM: So - severe Consequence, or Taken Out?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: So Abraham takes a major consequence or is Taken Out.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'll take the consequence. namely a blasted off wing.
[OOC] WC GM: Hrrin, then!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: So 2 stress and another Aspect.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Though we are at close to session end.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: My game is cancelled for today…
[OOC] Hrrin: We are. I need to skedaddle right after this.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: So no rush here.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Ah, kay.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: No rush here, either.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I'm getting confilicting signals.
[OOC] WC GM: I can go late today too.
[OOC] WC GM: Do you need to stop soon?
[OOC] Hrrin: I do.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Heh. No rush from me, Zinda, or WC, but from Hrrin - yes.
[OOC] WC GM: Ah, okay.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Zuki's the only one who needs to go? Abraham?
[OOC] WC GM: Then - how about we make that Taken Out?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I do not, but Hrrin has to go to the little Kilrathi's room after this.
[OOC] WC GM: And finish up?
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Just pionting out.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Taken out works.
[OOC] Hrrin: That'll do.
Zinda's fighter flies through the fireball that was Abraham's!
Hrrin is now solo versus three. What does Hrrin do?
Zinda Tegram: "Not bad, Prez."
Zinda Tegram grins a little.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: The answer is obvious. Death blossom!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can love bloom, even on a simulated battlefield?
[OOC] WC GM: It is theoretically possible.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: x D
[OOC] Hrrin: Solo versus three, and the -least- combat capable pilot here. I believe 'Running Away!' is called for, but I'm not certain about the 'terrain'?
[OOC] WC GM: It's a sim. Just hit the "Surrender" key.
Zinda Tegram: "Now, Razor!"
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: There's an 'I loose' button but not an 'I win' button? Huh. Now that's an inovation.
[OOC] WC GM: Or "Eject". Or Move action to escape.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: x D
[OOC] Hrrin: That'd do it, the last one. Move action to escape, -then- Eject.
[OOC] WC GM: Roll Piloting, then.
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: - 0 + 0 (Base: 2 Total: 2)
[OOC] WC GM: Spyboy!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can I oppose?
[OOC] Hrrin: You may!
[OOC] WC GM: Move actions aren't directly opposed. Rather, you do a Move action on your turn.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: K.
[OOC] Hrrin: Ah,that's right. You'd need to have rolled earlier to set up a an effective threshhold/barrier I'd have to roll to beat.
Spyboy Pearson plots an intercept for Zinda!
Spyboy Pearson rolled up 4dF: + 0 0 0 (Base: 4 Total: 5) (Tactics: Got an Intercept Vector)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Hrrin's defense?
Hrrin: A lone hunter of a pack hunting species is outnumbered. Her choice of action is obvious. Hrrin turns tail and rockes out, dipping through the asteroid debris field.
[OOC] Hrrin: Piloting or Alertness? Or Tactics itself?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Piloting has been used, so it shouldn't be that.
[OOC] WC GM: Tactics. Piloting too, but you've already used it.
[OOC] Hrrin: Huzzah, not my strengths.
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: - + - + (Base: 1 Total: 1)
[OOC] Hrrin: Chessa is merciful.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Can Maneuvers get spin?
Zinda Tegram: "Receiving your intercept vector."
[OOC] WC GM: Yes.
[OOC] WC GM: Abraham's out, so Zinda!
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Well, then Zinda, you can use it!
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Can I move and attack?
[OOC] WC GM: If Hrrin can Move 5 or more zones away, that's an escape. Hrrin's now 3 zones away.
[OOC] Hrrin: Ah, excellent.
[OOC] WC GM: Just attack. You - barely - have range.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: You can move one zone and attack with no problem.
[OOC] WC GM: And if you do anything else - save Move - Hrrin's probably escaping.
[OOC] WC GM: And Move would just draw it out.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: - + - - (Base: 5 Total: 3) (Not getting away so easily!)
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Reserving right to re-roll
[OOC] Hrrin: Honestly, she should probably have some sort of Aspect relevant to this sort of situation, given her long solo trek to Earth, but nothing immediately comes to mind that I can phrase and scribble down, and doing so mid-fight seems disingenuous. So mental note for later.
[OOC] WC GM: Does that include the spin? Assuming you're using it.
Zinda Tegram arms an extended range missile and fires it on the intercept trajectory.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I am totally going to be swapping out some aspect for 'Asteroid Friend' after this session.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Ah, yes.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That'd make it 4.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: With spin.
[OOC] WC GM: Alright. Hrrin, defense?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: And Hrrin's already used Tactics and Piloting….
[OOC] Hrrin: Aaah, but can one shoot down a missile with Gunnery?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It's a missile. Communications?
[OOC] WC GM: One can!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: It's a missile. Harsh Language?
[OOC] Hrrin: Eh, they're both at plus-three. But I'll go for Communications because I can think of a better Tag if need-be.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Harsh language?
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: + - 0 - (Base: 3 Total: 2)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: What are we supposed to use, harsh language?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Ah. x D
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: If it's the only skill you haven't used this round…
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: 2 points of health stress. Zinda, can you reroll?
[OOC] WC GM: Zinda probably wants to reroll.
Zinda Tegram rolled up 4dF: 0 - 0 + (Base: 6 Total: 6)
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Eh, better, at least.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: That's enough.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Same value as an Invoke, so…
[OOC] WC GM: 4 stress, then. Though Hrrin can reduce it to 2 with that tag?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: That's game if Hrrin doesn't Invoke…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: It's a sim. : P
[OOC] Hrrin: Sim or not, is 'Kit-Bashing as a Way of Life' relevant-sounding?
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: How many of our characters are actually fighter pilots? =p
[OOC] Hrrin: She isn't!
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I is, for what it's worth.
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: I, Abraham, You sort of, B4, Abraham.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Er… was.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: I count twice. That's swell of you Z.
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Anyways-
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Honestly sounds a little weak but I've heard worse.
[OOC] WC GM: ^
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: x D
[OOC] Hrrin: Let me see if I can come up with a good reasoning, then …
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Remember you're working in the confines of the sim.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Hrrin. Self-Aspect maneuver: "I can haz cheatcodes."
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: Do eeet!
[OOC] Hrrin: I am aware, that's what makes it harder.
Hrrin: Hrrin shoots out a clawed hand, clacking out a few hurried commands on the simulated controls. A burst of static and data to confound the missile's targeting, and a command to 'Eject Munitions' to dump the extra weight of ammo she won't be needing in her flight.
[OOC] Abraham Bounty: Just set up a… virtual machine…
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: In the time of a missile flight in a video-game? x D
[OOC] WC GM: Hrrin's turn. Another Move, right?
[OOC] Zinda Tegram: 2 stress then?
[OOC] Hrrin: Yes!
[OOC] WC GM: Yeah
[OOC] Hrrin: Intention there was 'unused missile pods as chaff'
Hrrin rolled up 4dF: 0 - + 0 (Base: 2 Total: 2)
The munitions trigger the missile to detonate some distance behind Hrrin's fighter, halving the damage.
Shortly thereafter, the sim registers Hrrin's craft as "Escaped" . Game Over - victory for Red Team!
Spyboy Pearson: "Rats. Wasn't a clean sweep."
Though that's a kind of purplish looking red.
Abraham Bounty applauds the opposing team's victory.
B4: "We did have the edge, Mike."
Abraham Bounty: "Nicely done guys."
Hrrin: "Survival is victory enough, for now."
[OOC] Hrrin: I've got to -run-
[OOC] Spyboy Pearson: Later!
Zinda Tegram walks up to Abraham. "You did pretty good. Better than the other confed trainees I dealt with."
