Military Grade Culture/Technology: You can reverse-engineer and learn any language in a few hours, just as long as there's someone or something to provide you with several examples.

Have a Thing: Most people believe your headset is just a fancy camera in the shape of a pair of glasses. Actually, it's a custom made piece of equipment that helps you correct your aim by giving you all sort of information.

Swap a skill: Your Aunt taught you quite a lot about social events. You've learnt how to remain calm in situations where other people would freak out and still look good while doing it. Use Charm for your Resolve Track.

Have a Thing: Mysterious implants. What could they be?

Growing up

Life in Summer was lovely. Diana’s parents worked in the Sommers Mining Consortium, her mother was one of the main engineers in charge of the operations in the south-west mines. Meanwhile, her father acted as the manager of the shipping station, making sure every package of precious mineral cargo was quickly sealed and en route to its destination.

These were lovely but hectic times. The constant need for resources meant that both mamma and daddy had to spend long times at work, leaving her lovely daughter with her aunt Constanza. Constanza was the kind of woman who decided to never have children of her own because she didn’t feel like dealing with the trouble and responsibility, so she choose the closest thing: to dote on her niece and see she had a “proper and traditional education”. Constanza and Alfonso, Diana’s father, came from an old family with roots in what was once Spain on Earth. She liked to talk about how they descended from ancient nobility, and so, there was a certain difference in status that was “crystal clear to anyone with a minimum of common sense, so mind your place when you are talking to me, you member of the common folk”. On the other hand, Alfonso wasn’t interested in such a thing so he let her do as she pleased as long as it didn’t mean any real threat to her or his family. While focused on his career, he met a woman called Catherine who was a bright intern at the time. They married soon after. Some people said it was the best choice in their life because they encouraged each other in such a way that they started climbing ranks on their path. The only problem was that they worked so well together, while on the job and as a couple, that there was little to none extra space for anyone else, specially her daughter.

Aspects: Never seen the war ; Nobility's aura

Starting Out

Diana had lots of friends. All of them were humans. This was not a coincidence. Her dear aunt Constanza had take care that she only socialize with "the correct people", and aliens weren't any sort of people in her book. Aunt Constanza knew though that in the following years openly opposing aliens would bring you more enemies than allies, that was something she could deal with at her age, but it was a fate she didn't want little Diana to inherit. So instead, she portrayed alien life to Diana as some kind of ascended pets. Sentient, amusing, but never people.
As a kid she used to spend long times with her aunt. She liked having long conversation with her. Sometimes, Aunt Constanza would let her sit and listen her "very important meetings". In those, Diana met several friends of her aunt who thought like her. This was the only moment in which she saw her aunt fire up about anything. [Add name of the faction]

As part of her “proper education”, Constanza taught her niece, whom she insisted on calling with her middle “more worthy” name Isabel, the different tricks to “be successful on social events”. By the time she was 10 she used her newly acquired skills to get free candy from her parents co-workers, at 14 she was able to sweet talk people into doing her homework, for free. When she hit 17 she made a bet with some friends that she could charm her way into the restricted area of the Summers Mining Consortium HQ. A selfie sent to them which featured Diana in a lab coat with a keycard with a big R-1 hanging on her neck was proof enough to say that she had won the bet. The judge agreed.

Aspect: "Remember Aunt Constanza's Teachings…" ; "What a lovely fur you've got there…"

Moment of Crisis

Turns out her little “game” almost meant jail time for her. The contents of the room were never disclosed, and there was a reason for it. Inside she found information regarding the plans the corporation had for the planet, and they were not nice. Many documents hinted they would be soon performing aggressive take-overs and pushing the political lobby to the utmost limit. What they wanted to achieve wasn't clear, but it was dreadful.
Aunt Constanza had to collect a few personal debts to save Diana. In the end, she was stuck with community service. Though between you and me, aunt Constanza wasn’t mad at Diana for breaking in, she was mad because she was caught. Aside from that slip, she was really proud of her niece.

This wasn't the end, though. Something was set ablaze inside Diana the moment she saw those documents. Something she held dear was about to grow out of control. It had to be stopped. Under the name of Kath Quinn she started leaking the secrets bit by bit. Soon, the half of the media which wasn't controlled by the SMC were publishing the news. Using the wave she had caused, she decided to start her own news site where she would publish what she could find using her…skills. This was a new and exciting road, if not a dangerous one.

Aspects: "My Auntie's Friends are everywhere", __Professional Information Recovery Agent_

Sidetracked

After a while, Diana set up a network of agents to act as middle-man between her and different media outlets. That way she could profit from her findings while keeping her public image safe, and using the big media companies reach she could make sure that the information would be spread far and wide. The name Kath Quinn became an underground legend. No one knew how she was capable of getting in and out without leaving traces, not even herself. sometimes she just stared a few seconds and somehow felt what she had to do to unlock a door or what to say to make someone drop their guard. As she grew in reputation a pair of claws started to close on her, something on a scale she couldn't imagine.

Aunt Constanza was well aware of her niece's "career choice", but she thought she could do better. That's how she was introduced to [Politician's name], with the backing of [supremmy's]. This man was an old acquaintance who from time to time also took part in the meetings. He quickly noticed Diana's talents and had her "recovering information" about his opponents. She would become an aide, at least on paper. She was expected to do the same thing she had been doing since she broke into SMC's HQ, only this time she'd be handing the information to [Politician's Name]. It was a dangerous job, but with her aunt's teachings and a politician's budget, she always found a way to unlock the door and rescue the information needed.

Aspects: I can make my own facades; One way or another i'm gonna open this door

On your own

One day, Diana was summoned to [Politician's name] office. She was greeted by her boss and also a man in uniform. He was wearing the Confederation colors. Turns out some of the information she had been leaking had made some people sitting higher quite disgruntled. He told her that, in the best case she would be tried for treason, and in the worst case she would simply not be heard of anymore. He also said that her family could and would be caught up in the ripples of this whole mess. Just before Diana started crying imagining what could happen, the military man spoke again. He said that there was a way out. They have been getting reports of suspicious activity aboard a Confederation's ship. Something that could become a real problem for "All the good and god-fearing *humans* in the sector". She'd have to go inside and do what she knew best: Gather information.

After that, the military man bid farewell. Once he was gone, her boss finally spoke. "As you can see, there's no choice." he said non nonchalantly. He handed her a letter of introduction which she'd have to show in Armstrong at the ArmsMedia New's division HQ, a Crest-related media agency. She'll be working as a journalist, while getting basic infiltration training to polish her skills. After a year, a request for an attached reporter will be announced, signaling the start of her mission.

Aspects: "I can not fail, my family's lifes are in my hands" ; Journalist during the day, secret agent by night.

[ THIS BELOW ARE NOTES AND DRAFTS ]

The death of one of her aunt's friends in an obscure event was a heavy blow for both of them. Though racial violence was implied as the final cause of the event, it was never openly discussed and the case quickly grew cold. This might have been the main reason why Diana felt that it was up to her to do something to protect their own from alien threats. Following the advice of her aunt, Diana took a job as a politician's assistant, "It'll help you pave your road" she had said. This man was an old acquaintance who from time to time also took part in the meetings. He quickly noticed Diana's talents and had her "recovering information" about his opponents. It was a dangerous job, but with her aunt's teachings and politician's budget, she always found a way to unlock the door and rescue the information needed.

Now this is when the story starts getting sketchy. Diana has been a nice, loyal dog for the last 4 years working on the side of a powerful politician in Sommers. This man [Add Name] while keeping a facade of an understanding but conservative man, was secretly working along with [Supremy's Faction] undermining projects that were deemed as "dangerous for Humanity's rightful place on Sommers and the universe", and as such, getting info on them before they went public was key: strike first, strike fast, strike hard. This was a man who held in his hands the power and the influence to stop the "decadence and degeneration that has been roaming our planet in the recent years". He was not the kind of man you would expect to betray you.
All of this was flashing in Diana's mind while she read the document that has just been handed to her. The man in front of him was wearing the Confederation colors. If this wasn't true it was the most elaborate, impossible and maybe the most expensive ruse since Sommers Mining Corporation acquired the monopoly over half the planet, destroying several small companies and forcing them into bankruptcy.
The data, which contained from leaked conversations to official documents, also detailed a law project which "aimed to the well being and cooperation among different sentient species and the protection of those suffering from unreasonable discrimination", it also criminalized "any group which defended and enforced any such discrimination" and branded as terrorists any group which, after being warned or sentenced, insisted on such ways. It continued with a conversation between [The Man] and the opposite party, promising their support on the incoming elections if he revealed info of [Supremy's Faction].
Diana knew this would basically destroy her Aunt. This was the one thing she couldn't let go. She was troubled and the man in front of her noticed. This is when he came out with a plan, a dangerous one, but it would save her Aunt. She will reveal that [The Man] had been spying and blackmailing his opponents with the information she had been stealing. She will have to completely obliterate that man's reputation and get not only him but the whole political class under the glass.

[ <PeterDracos> Might wanna make that more explicit, to frame the choice - let the aunt burn (metaphorically) or release all the blackmail data as evidence - and once the blackmail data is out, it's out.
<PeterDracos> So everyone that was being blackmailed suffers, too.
]

"Strike first, strike fast, strike hard. Wasn't that his motto?". Diana took a long breath. And nodded.

Jobless. Diana knew she wasn't going to work in the political field for a time. Neither as an aide nor as a hound. Even though she was never mentioned when the whole thing went public, thanks to Aunt Constanza's contacts, she had just doomed her own boss. No one in the political field wanted a sword of damocles over their heads. Desperation making his way through idleness, a silver lining came in the form of a card. The [Supremy's faction] decided to reward her and arranged a meeting with someone who was interested in her skillset, and old friend of Aunt Constanza. This man was Admiral Dakka.

"Go to Armstrong. You will start working as a journalist for ArmsMedia New's section, that's your facade. 6 months later, a request for an attached reporter will be announced, that's your call."
